1. Be. Compassionate. Now.
Submit yourself to the higher power of caring together, being compassionate right in this moment. We all care. Now we must care together. This facebook page is not an act of slactivism. It's not another collection of narcissistic ramblings demonstrating our easy-answer of excessive consumer-driven self-love. It is a call to action.
2. Out of great suffering comes great achievement. Right now, I am reeling from the events in Arizona. Congressman Gabrielle Gifford should not suffer in vain, nor should the family and friends of the shooting victims. We must turn the anger into something good and Love the Bad Guy Out of Business.
3. The Trinity of Love ends with adding more people to share in the good. We must recruit like it's a part-time job. We must get as many of the 1/2 billion people on Facebook to sign on to the Power of Love campaign as possible. Set a goal for yourself of 10 people a day and stick with it.
4. Play. Play without electronics. This thing in front of you and all its cousins is partly to blame for our problems. What has been advertised as a great convergence, bringing us together with technology, has, in actuality, been dominated by things that cause anger and divisiveness, like so many late night Call of Duty soldiers.
Play 1/2 hour each day without electronics, with other people, with other children.
Play cooperatively or competitively in a cooperative spirit. Then, and only then, come on-line and post in concise form to share your passion for your play. Post on what you love and that love will compound.
5. Accentuate the positive; limit the negative. This is not Pollyanna. This is not Pangloss. We can not gloss over war and poverty, drugs and conflict. But we can focus on the positive and let the love of what's good--the power of love--overcome the love of power.
Hate exists, but we can't extinguish it by focusing on hatred because thoughts are things and thoughts become reality.
Post, post and inspire more posts for all the good that you do in the name of love.
6. Read 1/2 hour a day. Post your recommendations and what you learn.
One of the most positive and powerful organizations to come out on the web in the past 10 years was the HP Alliance. Harry Potter fans shared their love of those fabulous novels, and then went out and did good works in the name of Dumbledor's Army. Let's expand that spirit, spreading the power of love to millions of people via Facebook.
Lets spread the Power of Love until the story of America changes. The story will not be of strife but of sacrifice. The story will not be of cynicism but of hope. The story will not be of hate, but of Love.
From this point forward, we will live by the Power of Love.
